Are You Going To Eat That?

Are You Going to Eat That? is a mostly acoustic EP featuring mandolin, pedal steel and the quieter side of Josh Roberts.
Larry Gornto- Drums
Alan Moon- Bass
Harris Gardner- Mandolin
Dennis Steele- Pedal Steel
Leslie Branham- Vocals on The Reformation & My Sweet
Nicole Hagenmeyer- Vocals on The Reformation

"Are You Going to Eat That?, an off-the-cuff solo EP that features a mixture of songs old and new from Roberts' vast back catalog. Roberts will be stripped of the raw, raucous power of his Hinges backing band, performing his material mostly by his lonesome....It still has all the earmarks of Roberts' work with the Hinges: Minus the country-rock trappings, Are You Gonna Eat That? focuses mainly on Roberts' high-twang tenor, his exceptional guitar skills, winsome chord progressions and, of course, his uncanny ability to turn a story in to a song. My War Cry Is Amor

"My War Cry is Amor" is a cinematic, emotional, and literary Thanksgiving dinner of rock. Although the songs stand powerfully alone, this is truly an ALBUM that explores the dualities of Man and God, love and war, and true life and death, all with virtuoso musicianship and full of the kind of happy accidents that made it exciting for the band to make and will keep it exciting for you to listen to.

The Sugar Bird Test

Josh Roberts and the Hinges' first album, The Sugar Bird Test. It's live-in-the-studio, old-fashioned and modern, roots and raw Rock n Roll. They're traditionalists and stylists, but no purists. True believers who know it ought to be sacred, profane, ecstasy and pain. When two electric guitars are turned up so that it sounds like there's an invisible Hammond organ in the room, that's how Josh Roberts wants it. His music is built on the Blues, Country, Folk, and Rock music: The Southern burning this South Carolina native knows in his heart. The songs have homes stretching from Europe to Montana, but they always come back to the South for the spiritual alchemy that turns heartbreak into beauty and tragedy into laughter.
